GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — The 28th annual Community Christmas Dinner at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island is set for noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 25, according to event chairman Ed Meedel.

The event will feature a traditional Christmas meal, including turkey, ham, potatoes, dressing, corn and various desserts, such as pumpkin pie. Approximately 1,000 meals are expected to be served. Volunteers are still needed and can sign up by calling the church office at (308) 382-2973 or visiting the church’s website at www.stpaulsgi.com.

Church volunteers will also prepare lunches for delivery on Dec. 25 to participants in the Grand Generation Center’s Meals on Wheels program, as well as to essential personnel such as law enforcement officers and Fire Department staff.

Meals will also be delivered to Hope Harbor. “We are glad that we can provide meals for the Meals on Wheels program, law enforcement officers, Fire Department staff and Hope Harbor,” Meedel said. “We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.”
