NORTHERN MICHIGAN (WPBN/WGTU) — It’s the season of giving and several businesses, churches and non-profits are giving back this season by hosting free community meals.

Grand Traverse County:
Bergstrom’s Burgers in Traverse City is offering a free dinner to those in need on Christmas Day.905 US-31, Traverse CityThe meal will be served December 25 from 2-5:30 pmMore details can be found on the restaurant’s Facebook page.The Salvation Army Traverse City invites the you to join us for our Christmas Community Meal on Tuesday, December 23.A traditional Christmas meal will be served Dine-In or To-Go at The Salvation Army Community Center, 1239 Barlow Street, Traverse City.The meal will be served from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.Traverse City Community Meal program will host a Christmas Day meal.Location: Trinity Lutheran Church , 1003 S Maple Street, Traverse City.The meal will be served December 25 from 1-3 p.m.
Luce County:
A free community meal will be served on Christmas Day at St. Gregory Catholic Church in NewberryLocation: 212 W. Harrie Street, NewberryThe dinner will be served from 1 – 3 p.m.
Mason County:
A community meal will be served on Christmas Eve at Community Church in Ludington.The meal will be served December 24 from Noon-2 p.m.The Community Church of Ludington: 109 N Harrison St, LudingtonNo reservation is needed for dine-in. If you need a meal delivered you need to sign up by calling by December 20: 231- 843-9275 or emailing communitych49431@gmail.comPlease provide the number of meals, your name, address, and phone number.A volunteer will follow up to confirm delivery details. Volunteers will make deliveries between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Otsego County:
A free Christmas dinner will be served in Gaylord Friday, December 19 at the First Congregational Church.The meal will be served at 5 p.m. (doors open at 4 p.m.)First Congregational Church, 218 W 2nd St, GaylordYou can also participate in an ugly sweater contest at the meal.This meal is free, but they appreciate donations if you can, though they’re not required.
