  1. Put them all in your mouth at once as god has intended

Your favorite. The fuller you get the less you appreciate the flavor.

Personally the maguro tataki (?) in the center row on the very left looks good.

Or go for the most delicate flavored fish first. Probably one is the white fish.

Leaving the tuna for last. Everything else can go first. But the tuna is saved for the last and best taste!

This looks home made 🙂 looks delicious!

I’ve read you should start lighter/white fish first, then darker and fattier, ending with fatty tuna!

  6. Since it’s presented as in a right right handed sushi layout and I’m a lefty, I would rotate that plate 90 degrees. Then I would eat top to bottom, left to right

Easy first is one of the shrimp. There is 2 of them and I like shrimp. After that is tough to say. Maybe the middle row left to right starting on the second one. Add in some of the top row as I go. Then the bottom row.

Right to left, top to bottom. just like civilized people write.

My preference is to start with lean and progress to rich/fatty/highly flavored (i.e. saba in any guise) pieces.
If I don’t know what the fish are, I try white (more translucent>opaque) first then onward.

  10. I start with the least favorite. In this case, mushi ebi. You’ve got two of them!

The most delicate flavor should go first… I like octopus or squid as an initial foray. I would leave the oiliest for towards the end. I might finish with the egg.

  12. The one in the bottom centre with the green stuff on it, and the hairlike bones (shudder).

Food with tiny bones creeps me out so if you’re like me, I’d suggest getting that one out of the way first lol.

Edit: I’ve just seen the top left one, DEFINITELY that one first 💀

Start with the soup, then move on to the Sushi on the right and work your way left. Don’t forget to use the ginger every time you change the type you are eating. The ginger will clean your palate so you can enjoy every bit of the sushi.

When complexity becomes unmanageable, we resort to algorithmic solutions.

Top left to bottom right. It’s not the journey. It’s the destination.

Egg last. It is a C student who snuck into the advanced class.
