Itália no Box, a franchise chain specializing in Italian cuisine, has announced an investment of R$5 million to open five of its own stores in Portugal by the end of 2025. The new units will be located in Lisbon, Porto, Aveiro, Viseu and Coimbra.

The expansion into Portugal is part of the brand’s internationalization strategy, which also has plans for the United States. The goal is to open 30 international units in the next three years.

“Our entry into the Portuguese market represents a significant milestone for the brand. We are excited to bring our family recipes, which combine Italian cuisine with a Brazilian touch, to new consumers,” says Gabriel Alberti, partner for Italy at Box.

The popularity of Italian culinary facilitates the acceptance of the franchise in foreign markets, requiring few adaptations to the menu. To ensure the success of the strategy, the company has invested in consultancies specialized in the local market.
