Decided to open something nice today after setting up and removing an oven for my wife.
This wine hit you in the face with the aromatics upon opening. It smelled of graphite, violets and tobacco absolutely gorgeous! It tasted of black currents, cassis with a small hint of baking spice. This wine had a long finish that went for days. The tannins had fallen out after being tucked away in the cellar. It had a coating mouthfeel that was luscious . I wish I had more of this amazing juice. 94 points in my book.

93 was an awful vintage, so that’s really cool that this was still standing strong. You must have a good cellar!

I have an ’88 that I plan to open in March. Hoping it still have some life left.

Ducru is usually built to last. Classy wine!
