I'm searching for the perfect lemon sardines to enjoy straight from the tin. Sprouts had a 2 for $7 deal for Bela sardines in olive oil with lemon & smoke flavor. I threw them on a bed of fresh sushi rice.
I like the size on these as they're quite meaty, and the texture is just about ideal for me, not too soft. Very low salt. Unfortunately, I'm getting absolutely no lemon flavor at all. I wonder if these are flavored the same way that they flavor La Croix, by gently waving the lemon over the sealed can. I had to double check that I hadn't picked up the wrong flavor. My hunt continues.

Spritz some lemon over them? Your description seemed like an 8/10 for the sardines. Why 6/10?
I bought some recently when they were 2 for $7. Haven’t tried them yet.
I thought the lemon flavor was decent in that Wild Planet sardines.
In my experience, I found that using fresh lemon for regular sardines in oil works much better than the lemon flavored tins. These r good in a pinch but fresh lemon is next level! It could b worth trying out if ur a fan of lemon flavored sardines
