Scored this awesome genesis 330 about a year ago for free, perfect condition. Left it covered outside under shelter for about a year and there's quite a bit of rust. The stainless was easy to clean up, however the stand paint is pretty rusty and bubbly.

What's the go for sorting it, angle grinder wire brush to bare, then a couple of rattle cans?

I have an older version, i sanded the surface, wiped it of with break cleener, rustconverter, and then heavy duty paint (hammered metal paint?)

I wish I had gotten ahead of the rust. Basically that bottom sheet of metal holds the bottom of the cabinet in place. If that rusts out, the whole thing will want to collapse when moved.

I priced the replacement part and even with a discount from Weber it was cost prohibitive. A used Weber if the same model with no rust was less or equivalent. Ultimately just threw it away after salvaging some parts.
