I asked a few weeks ago here about fake sugar with no aftertaste. I decided to try a mixture of Monk fruit and erythritol. So far, I find it works well. Trying the mixture on its own has this slightly cooling effect that erythritol is famous for but mixing it in the hot drinks seems to make the effect disappear. I don’t taste anything other than sweetness.
As for the snack, here I have hot chocolate made with 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder (11 calories), 1 tablespoon of monk fruit+erythritol (0 calories), and 1 cup of unseasoned almond milk (35 calories) for a big total of 36 calories. I added a drop of peppermint extract and half a teaspoon of chocolate extract as well. Could probably use 2 tablespoons of a sweetener if you like your hot chocolate sweet.
To go with the hot chocolate, I have 14 grams of Drizzilicious cookies for 60 calories. I discovered Drizzilicious a few years ago, way before I started counting calories. I really love these cookies as I can have quite a few, I get the sweetness, the crunch, the flavour.
This snack doesn’t taste like a diet snack at all!
