Got a whole rack of prime ribeye on sale from Costco a couple weeks ago and cut this beauty off for myself.

Smoked with post oak until 117f internal. Seared on cast iron griddle.

Can’t eat it standing up cause your knees will buckle.

jeez that’s a solid perfect steak. I can’t imagine what anyone could do to improve that. 10.00/10

I have seen a lot of steaks on this sub and this is in the elite tier. Sear at high temp? Any oil/butter?

  5. That’s one of the best this year – if not THE best! Unbelievable crust, no grey band, perfect doneness! Most can only dream to achieve this level of mastery…

Looks amazing! How long are you searing for when you pull it off the smoker? Also do you like to rest it before the sear? That has my vote for steak of the year!!

I looked at it and all I could say was damn!

Personally, I would take my torch to the fat, just for personal preference. Otherwise this is spot on.

    Would absolutely devour.

Oh…MY. Wow. That’s one serious Ribeye steak, my favorite cut, at a perfect medium rare.

I see that church music! What a great beer! I moved to the east coast and that beer is not present in the Charlotte area.
