I got the griddle insert on sale from Best Buy. The box was pretty beat up, but the griddle itself looked okay. My only question is at two corners there is some discoloration and I’m wondering if this is normal or if I need to do an exchange?

That is normal.. that is the welded spot. My griddle look exactly the same directly from Weber. Once you seasoned it.. it is all dark color.
Looks to me like a burn mark from a weld. I would think it would be ok
