Anniversary dinner in Berlin and saw this on the wine list for €2100. My first DRC. Hate to say it, but this lived up to the hype. It was satisfying in the way that a great plain croissant or margherita pizza is. Like, “damn, this is some mighty fine WINE”. Pure cranberry that lingers forever with black tea and rose petal. Acid, tannin, and minerality all present, but none stealing the spotlight. No remorse!

Hate to say it? Why. This is bucket list type stuff for this sub.

It’s really interesting because we all got allocated library releases of 2013 vintages of DRC at pretti advantageous prices.

I see so many places and people lately with 2013 on their list or enjoying them like you.

As a Somm and director I work in the industry so I don’t have the income to enjoy these but did get to try a Grand Echezaux and I was blown away. I always thought they were hyped but no, they are just outstanding wines.

What the hell do you people do for work to be able to afford all this amazing wine?! Fuck.
