So I emailed them a month or so back asking plainly “why does your product cost more than eggs?” And the answer I got was such a shitty cop out that boils down to “we’re fleecing just egg customers to prop up getting into vegan meat production.” Which I understand but once that stuff crossed $5 at WALMART of all places I just wrote it off.

So don’t expect them to drop that price anytime soon because they’re banking on dependence to prop up their other bullshit.

Is that Safeway? For some reason, it’s ALWAYS the most expensive there. I always get it cheaper at Target or Whole Foods

It’s normally $8 at Kroger, so $6.50 sounds good to me. That said, this is why it’s a sometimes food and not a regular staple for me.

I hate when grocery stores do this but I think that $6.50 is the “member price” and $7.99 is for non members and therefore cheaper than $8.99.

These are nearly $13 a carton in Canada.

This shit used to be like $3 or $4. Then egg prices went crazy and it matched that inflation 1:1. Egg prices came down, this stayed the same price. Hope they go out of business and a better alternative takes their market share. I won’t be buying it anymore.

I tried using @veganhackspod’s recipe for mung beans eggs but it came out kind of grainy. Anyone else have better luck? Tbf I haven’t tried it since, but these are $9.99 at Whole Foods and $8.99 at Jewel (midwest Safeway) and it’s just…not worth that for one or two breakfasts (I also love the new Just Chicken, though lol so I am working against myself…).

You must be a northeast guy I know that “organics” brand lol

It’s a sad state of affairs when it costs more to be a vegan than an omnivore in both processed and non-processed foods.

I just buy the frozen Just Egg. It’s about $5 for 4.

I am happy I am not the only one who’s flabbergasted by the price of this stuff. I love it but have only boughten it a few times over the last couple years because it’s over $6 at Walmart. This is the kinda food I only buy when I got a promotion and am feeling snazzy. It’s odd because you think there’d be more value in quantity of sales. I would have boughten it probably over a dozen times in the last couple years if it were just a couple bucks cheaper and more justifiable. This price gatekeeps poor vegans and totally turns off non-vegans from trying it who can get a dozen of eggs for half the price. “JUST” is a delulu company and it amazes me I haven’t heard about them being on the brink of bankruptcy yet.
