Hi!
It’s my first time making macarons.
Can anyone help me with what went wrong?

Obviously I didn’t space them enough.
They ran really fast out of the bag,
And the oven dropped temp mid way through and i put it back up.

Any tips?

    Probably a poor recipe.
Try one with step by step instructions and accompanying video, so you can see each step in detail.

Indulge with Mimi has a great basic French Macaron recipe.
Pies and Tacos has an excellent basic Swiss Macaron recipe.

What recipe did you use? Unfortunately bc mac’s are soo particular, we’ll have to know literally step by step what you used ingredient wise and oven temp and how long you mixed/what your peaks looked like to give you any kind of real answers

It shouldn’t run fast out of a bag, it should flow like “lava” off your spatula. Enough to form a figure eight without breaking.

Make sure you are weighing your ingredients to the gram. Try without food coloring for your next try.

Start back from square one with a better recipe.

Weird, I made a new recipe for chocolate shells yesterday because it had a ton of positive reviews. It turned out identical. I knew the recipe was off halfway through but continued baking for the plot. Im guessing it was the recipe! Keep going OP!
