CLEVELAND, Ohio — Chef Jill Vedaa has joined Buildings and Food hospitality group as its Vice President of Culinary Operations.

Vedaa will oversee back-of-house operations for the group’s six restaurants — two Good Company locations, Prosperity Social Club, La Cave du Vin, Old 86 and the soon-to-open Easy Out in Lakewood.

Vedaa has a more than 30 years of experience in the Cleveland culinary community, most notably at Salt+ in Lakewood. The James Beard Award semifinalist has also appeared on Food Network’s “Chopped” and “Guy’s Grocery Games.”

“I have a deep passion for food, from preparing it to enjoying it. The opportunity to do so on a larger scale and to mentor talented individuals is truly a dream job,” Vedaa said in a press release.

Buildings and Food was established 11 years ago with The Spotted Owl in Tremont, growing into a major player in the current scene. The group acquired the longstanding Prosperity Social Club in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood in 2021. A couple of years later, they also revived La Cave du Vin, moving the wine bar to Tremont from its original Cleveland Heights location.

“As we continue to serve great food and drinks, provide good jobs and opportunities for professional growth to our people, and give back to our communities through our charitable endeavors, it’s vital that we also stay connected to Cleveland and everything that makes Cleveland special,” Will Hollingsworth, CEO of Buildings and Food, said in the release. “Jill shares that sense of place, and her talents represent Cleveland at its very best.”
