If you’ve ever been to Japan, then you know that the creme brulee ice cream there is a hit. My husband and I went to Japan for a honeymoon last year. And I’ll be completely honest with you, even though Japan had been on my bucket list literally my entire life, we agreed to celebrate our honeymoon over Christmas. And it was his idea to go to Japan. I was like, um, I want to be on a beach. But you guys, I’m telling you right now, Japan in December is a sleeper. We had the most amazing time. There were almost no crowds anywhere, and the weather was super nice and cozy. As soon as we landed in Tokyo, we got to our hotel at 11:00 at night. Immediately went to the 7-Eleven across the street, and I had to try the creme brulee ice cream that I heard so much about. Recreating this recipe has been my Roman empire for the last year. And since our 1-year anniversary is coming up, I thought, what sweeter way to celebrate than to create some recipes that are inspired by our trip. I’m sharing this recipe and more of my other little kitchen side quest, my new Substack. It’s 100% free.

  1. I got back from spending a semester in Tokyo last month, there was a 7-11 right by my dorm, and the creme brulee ice-cream probably made up 3 of the 6 pounds i gained in Japan. It is especially good in the summer.

  2. You do know that Creme Brulee is French right? Clearly, I have missed something but it is French not Japanese. 🤦‍♀️

  3. what a cute story!! and those look DELICIOUS!! never heard of them before but now i know ill be thinking of them until i get to try them myself

  4. Great idea recreating the foods from your trip for your anniversary. Ha, I went to Japan for my honeymoon too! (In 2009) 😊

  5. You should have more subs! This is insane. I’ve been saving every freaking short for like the last 10min. Everything you make is amazing!

  6. When I say I've been thinking about this I've cream non stop since I've legged Japan in March 😲 thank you!

  7. Why would you as a black woman be interested in different races and cultures, we have nothing to do with those things
