I know there are other, possibly cheaper places in the city to get this sort of food, but there aren't as many options in Lower Manhattan as there used to be and I'm very glad these guys are still around. I don't do this every Saturday—we're not exactly talking health food here—but every so often it's fun to hike over from the WV and return with a bag full of varenyky (potato-and-onion is the best IMO), sausages, bigos, meatballs, blintzes, you name it. Hell, take your bounty over to Astor Place and enjoy a Slavic feast without bracing Veselka's weekend lines. Today they had a little sample tray by the register with rye, kielbasa, and a really good spicy mustard.
