I know many people do cookie boxes/gifts every year and I have been the recipient of those before, but I have never done them myself! The day I had meant to do all of these in one fell swoop, my friend had to be driven to the ER so I actually didn't get to make all the cookies I wanted to (I would have added soft gingersnaps and chai sandwich cookies with espresso cream in the middle). (Also yes my friend is fine haha.)

Anyway, I had tons of fun either way! I was most excited for the maple brown sugar cookie (Sally's), I had been waiting to make it since forever. They seriously do not disappoint.

The black sesame is my baby just because I love the flavor and was experimenting with it, but I think next time I'll try a different flavored glaze. The raspberry is so exciting of a flavor that it boxes out the subtle sesame nuttiness… but it is very good all the same.

First time making PB blossoms!! I know they're a classic so I was excited to do them. So easy. I freaking love peanut butter.

Mint ones were delicious but honestly maybe should have included mint extract in the cookie itself? Not minty enough to me… but maybe I'm a freak.

I'll include the recipe links in a comment.

Also, anyone have any tips for where to buy cheap boxes that isn't Amazon? I just ended up doing some little baggies but next time I'd like them to look more professional (and not slide around so much).

Looks great! And I’m delighted to see that so many cookie connoisseurs serve up Sally’s Maple Brown Sugar confections in their Christmas boxes! One of my all-time favorites!

That one with only chocolate seems so delicious.

Those look yummy. I learned a lesson about mint cookies though. You don’t want to package them with the other cookies or they all taste like mint. If yours aren’t very minty though may be okay

  5. Look so cute and yummy 😋 Could you be my friend?

I’m not a fan of sesame but your sesame raspberry cookies are gorgeous! All four cookies are pretty, but that one caught my attention immediately

Yum!  I found clear plastic  “takeout boxes” at Dollarama in Canada that I used this year, stops them getting smushed.

Black sesame is an elite baked good ingredient. I love it so much.

Is this your first time cooking? Amazing! When I first tried baking, I totally burned the cookies. Lol

You can usually get 2 boxes per package at the dollar store.

Absolutely gorgeous! I had the same issue with the Andes mint cookies (ie wanting them mintier) and the way I solved it was to make the cookie smaller so that when the mint melted on top, I could swirl it around so that it covered the whole top of the cookie. That hit my minty sweet spot but I am sure adding mint to the dough would also do the trick!

The black sesame shortbread with the raspberry dip is so pretty. Did you just blend freeze dried raspberries into the icing?

I got all of my boxes from thrift stores this year! They were 50 cents-a dollar each, so very affordable and with the added bonus of being better for the planet

The maple cookies are soooo good — I made them for the first time this autumn and we’ve made them like 3 times since then already! These cookies all look excellent, well done 👍

There’s a bakery in Chicago that does a sesame passion fruit tart! Another option for the glaze instead of the raspberry!

For years I have used Cellophane bread bags that I bought on Amazon to use as birthday and Christmas cookie gift bags. I placed a plastic dessert plate on the bottom, loaded up the cookies, and tied the bag with ribbon. I also wrap smaller gifts in colored tissue paper and place them in these cellophane bags. I bought them years ago and still have so many in the drawer. They worked out to be a much more economical way to gift cookies than metal tins. And as for boxes- how do the cookies stay fresh?

By the way, when I include peppermint cookies in the gift bag I wrap them separately in plastic wrap so the peppermint aroma does not affect the other cookies.
