Yes, the 26 dwarfs the 22. It’s the perfect size, IMO 🙂

  2. Something put the 26″ into my head about a week ago and I don’t go 15 minutes without thinking about it.

  3. For my cooks the 22 is perfect. 26 would be too big and use too much charcoal for my needs.

I guess four more inches does matter. Wait what?

  5. I just bought a clearance 26” last week and am planning to go pick it up next week. I’ll probably christen it with a prime rib

I know the math tells me it’s almost 40% more cooking area, but damn, that still looks monstrous

Well, I think it’s referring to the diameter so I think it does the same thing that you get with pizza where a 14 inch pizza is way bigger than a 12 inch pizza. Honestly, in my opinion, the 22 inch has been big enough for smoking a brisket or a couple of chickens so that’s big enough for me. 26 is probably helpful if you frequently do huge family gatherings, but I think I would get quickly annoyed if I was cooking for a smaller family or just a couple people. It would probably feel like a lot of wasted charcoal.
