Step by step Turkish styled oven baked rice pudding recipe – Sütlaç recipe! 👩‍🍳

Ingredient list:

– 1 cup rice (200ml cup)
– 4 cup water (200ml cup)
– 3 tbsp cornstarch
– 1 egg yolk
– 1 litre Milk
– 1 cup sugar (200ml cup)

Today we are making Turkish styled rice pudding which is also called sidut. To start you’ll need a cup of rice. Give it a nice wash and place it into your pot along with four cups of water. Bring to a boil and stir occasionally until the rice softens. Constantly check on the rice and test with your finger as we don’t want the rice to become very moist and mushy. And let it cool on the side. In a clean small bowl, add 3 tablebsp of corn starch and one egg yolk. And keep it on the side ready cuz we will be using it very shortly. Take a new pot and add a liter of milk along with 1 cup of sugar and give it a whisk. Stir until it becomes warm. And using a soup ladle, add two scoops of milk into our cornstarch mix. Gradually add the mix back into the milk pot and stir till it’s fully combined together. You can then bring the rice back and place our milk mixture into the rice pot. We did use a lot of pots in this recipe, but it’s totally worth it, so bear with me. Add your sudl mix into your desired cups. I’m using casserles for my own. Take your oven tray out and add enough amount of water, not too much, not too less. Add your slet onto the oven tray. Then proceed to place inside the oven at 180° till the top becomes more golden and brown. And yes, you can serve it however you like. Hope you guys like it. Please comment and subscribe.
