I've only had sardines a few times, these are kippered Brunswick. Really tasty on the avocado toast. I want to make some pickled red onion for next time, and expand to other brands/flavours. Not sure what else is readily available here in Ontario.

Eaten in bed for breakfast.

Really? ‘Cause it looks like you know what you’re doing.

    Fellow Canadian here.

Looks like you have kippered herring (so not sardines). Brunswick honestly makes pretty good products, especially for their prices

My recommendation and my favourite go-to sardines are [Club des Millionaires Wild Sardines in Olive Oil](https://millionairefish.com/products/wild-sardines-in-olive-oil/) (NOT the “Brisling” ones – I’m personally not a huge fan of the Brisling sardines as they are too small and remind me too much of minnows I’d use for fishing bait). These are very consistent pacific sardines (Sardinops sagax), they are nice and firm and delicious. They are usually about $4/tin, and you can sometimes get them on sale. They should be available at almost all big grocery chains

You’ll get 3-4 sardines in a can (with tails, heads, and guts removed – but these are ‘whole’ sardines so they have skin and bones, which are undetectable in your mouth – and very healthy!). I generally just eat them with crackers or straight out of the tin with some sweet hot sauce (Tiger sauce)

I just recently started eating them too. I find that it’s really good with just lemon and a teensy bit of salt. I like to lightly saute mine in a pan
