Kinders has many great options at a good price point, I like quite a few of them. I usually season my steaks and chicken breast with salt pepper and garlic most of the time so it only made sense to try “the blend” for convenience. I sure was wrong. It does not taste like basic spg, it has a funky synthetic flavor. I noticed it has sunflower and garlic oil in the ingredients, could that have anything to do with it? My wife and everyone else seems to think it’s great, I just can’t get with it.

I like santa maria rub for my spg if I’m not making it myself.
Sounds like a you problem not a rub problem if everyone around you likes it.
I prefer the chimichurri one over all the other kinders. I’ve bought a bunch of them and the one I had to rebuy was the chimichurri. Every other one is now just sitting there.
I’ve never understood who buys spg mix. It’s literally 3 spice ingredients.
It could be. I am a fan of their all purpose blend, but I definitely find myself having issues with some seasonings that have too much salt or sugar or other additives to prevent clumping. Honestly, for something that basic I would definitely find myself making that on my own. My guess is it probably might be that they are using dehydrated garlic, which is a bit bigger and chunkier than garlic powder. The added fat from the oil also affects the flavor that you get.
AI likes the salt Ai likes the peppa…
I’ve never purchased it, and prob never will. When a rub’s main label list 3 ingredients I always have in my cabinet I’m not going to buy theirs.
Yes, but I like it
I got it as a gift and yeah it tastes weird
It’s my go to SPG blend for all things where I think I need SPG: however, due to the grind being on the larger size, I do not put it on steak because I find it burns the larger bits.
I use this on my blackstone when making smash burgers but that’s about it. Tried in on some grilled chicken breast and didn’t like it.
100% this.
I have tried almost every other flavor that Kinders puts out.
Bought this one a couple of years ago. It’s still full. It sucks.
Agreed. The only Kinders I like is their cowboy butter.
I’ve noticed a lot of those Kinders seasonings taste artificial. More of a McCormick gentleman myself…
I tried their turkey brine/seasoning. Was surprised how decent it came out
I love this. I use this more than any other spice I have.
I’m with you. Wish I could find Woodfired Garlic in stores
This is my favorite blend of theirs.
Too much sugar for me
It’s my go to for any SPG I need. Of all others that I’ve tried, it’s the best in my opinion
The only Kinders I buy repeatedly is the woodfired garlic.
SPG is easy enough to mix, Badia has a Harlem garlic pepper with less salt that I like too.
I love the blend. Been using it on everything lately. I also love kinders. But we also live near the original location and in the heart of kinders country
I have many different kinder seasonings and like them all, specifically cowboy butter, and the prime steak seasoning. The blend tastes very weird to me. The other people that I was feeding felt the same way.
Fair, use the seasonings that you like.
I do love the Onion Butter TBH.
I’d like a finer grind on garlic. Garlic gets burnt and lil bits good in some and not great on others.
The very best SPG is Arnietex OG

I’ve never tried “the blend” my favorite bottled SPG is Ted and Barneys. I do like most Kinders rubs, “The Taco Blend” is awesome.
I’m not keen. It’s all personal preference though. Not enough pepper heavy for me and slightly to corse.
I use that on burgers and everyone (myself included) loves it.
I grabbed a bottle and used it all. I had no problem with the flavor, but it was kind of light on the pepper and the garlic was too chunky for my purposes/taste (fixed that with a spice grinder and some extra pepper)
The garlic pieces can burn easily
Love it
Way too much garlic and it’s big pieces
🤮
I picked it up for the first time a month or so ago. I grabbed two on a whim. Just seemed right, and I had seen some BBQ content creators mention that this brand was a good one. And I am pretty pleased! I used it and the Weber Bold Smokey and Sweet on some party ribs, which was a bit too salty. Combining the two was not a good idea, in retrospect.
I made NY Strip on Saturday and used just The Blend and that turned out wonderfully. I also used it on the small flat I made, and that was good, too.
It’s a great seasoning on its own. I am glad I gave it a try. I will probably try to keep it in stock.
Bout everything I cook gets “the blend” it’s just SPG.
-salt
-pepper
-garlic.
What is it about the blend that makes ya not a fan?
I find the garlic a little chunky for my liking, but overall, I use it for convenience.
I like all their stuff. The cowboy butter rub is great too
Love the blend
I buy that all the time at Costco. My go to for everything
