Looks great. Holding up Gordon’s legacy every year for every celebration 😆
I love that it’s super easy to make and prep and tastes amazing. The Christmas version is the best imo. Screw the crepe 😂

Beef Wellington isn’t easy and this looks solid.

For a first attempt and using a cut of this size… It looks gorgeous! Hopefully it tastes as good as it looks, cheers mate!

Looks like you knocked it out of the park, but I’d have to taste it to be sure! (wink, wink)

Looks good enough that I would try it, destroy the first serving, ask for 2nds, probably 3rds, and depending on how long of a work day I’ve had, a 4th helping.

Bottom crust looks decidedly not soggy. 10/10

Lovely! Something about this particular attempt makes me wonder if a Hot Pocket/empanada-sized format might work.

Beef looks absolutely spot-on, but the pastry is ‘shitting through the eye of a needle’ raw on the inside.
Wrap the duxelle in crepes so the pastry cooks through, and you’re on to a winner

Yes. The answer is magic, OR understanding the physicist of food which is 100% possible for a home cook.

Looks amazing. Love the flaky salt on top and the pastry looks good. If there was any feedback I’d say just be sure to roll it a bit tighter next time.

Dreadful, you should dispose of it immediately, just throw it away into my mouth

Beautiful Wellington for the first attempt. Much better than my first attempt for sure. Also wanted to comment I have the same exact cutting board 😆

That looks glorious.

Didn’t read any comments. Absolutely amazing!
If you want to elevate your game the mushroom mixture is where it is at.
Pretty sure pornography violates the subreddit rules.

Beef Wellington is a stupid British invention. I only wrap sausage in puff pastry.

I think you should improve on that particular recipe. Please allow me to test every iteration of this experimental technique. It’s not what i want. However i am willing to make a sacrifice on this occasion. I shall send you my details.

Wow! I’ve always wanted to make this. Tell me, on a scale of 1-10, how hard was it?

Looks delicious

Stunning! The beef is cooked to perfection! If there is a next time – you can cook it on the lowest rack for half the time to cook the bottom puff a little more. Then switch to the mid rack the remaining time to not overcook the bottom. Did you cook on parchment parchment or directly on the pan? Well done! This is a lot if work. I’m sure your guests were delighted 😃 😋🤤 (edit: I see you baked right on the broiler pan. Maybe cook on parchment to give some of the fat somewhere to disperse and brown.

worth the time (flavor wise)?

The dough on the bottom looks a little raw. Was it raw? Did you get a soggy bottom? What was your layering process? Beautiful meat.
