It happened to me today. But its the thought that counts right

Chicken marinades are my default use for any vinegar based hot sauce I’m not a fan of, and it gives you a good response if they ask how you liked them. You can also steer the resulting conversation to a small business hot sauce brand you like as a hint for the future.

Got this box as a gift last year, it was absolute trash.

  3. Funny-Conclusion-678

Lol. Gotta love the family members. At least they all usually taste decent.

That’s like how I told my wife if she ever wants to get me a hot sauce sample pack/gift box, it needs to be an actual name brand I can buy later, not just these generic sauces with no brand that you see every year around this time. Thankfully her and my in-laws are good about either buying me sauces I already like/want to try or finding new ones that are the general type of sauces I like.

It’s always the thought that counts. I’ve never been gifted hot sauce before. This would’ve made me happy either way

  6. beuceydubs

I don’t get it, is this supposed to be bad?

  7. TemperatureMore5623

The green one and the whiskey habanero ones aren’t bad. Actually pretty enjoyable. The chocolate one though… I took a taste and tossed the whole bottle lol

Each and every bottle of sauce has been personally yelled at by Gordon Ramsey. Wow! 😉

  9. fatpuppies88

I’ve thrown away several dozen of them over the decades, usually there’s 1 or 2 “decent” ones per box.

Yeah it’s a weird thing when you’re a chili head and even worse when you grow your own and make your own sauces, like thanks…. I have a chest freezer literally full of peppers. 🌶️ lol but it’s the thought that counts as others have said.

Interesting. The actual brand Hell’s Kitchen is great. However, this is not from them.

I always get these boxes of hot sauce and I never use them. They are typically gross and super chemically tasting.

  13. dalcant757

I keep them at my desk for a quick shot of flavor if I’m getting hungry or while driving to keep me awake. It’s basically vinegar.

  14. MoreTHCplz

“Whiskey Habanero” so you won’t question why it tastes funny

  15. nambrosch

It’s the thought that counts. One year I got iodine tablets from my dad because he was concerned about a nuclear attack.

  16. johnnycoxxx

I don’t have these particular sauces but yeah I’ve been gifted an around the world hot sauce box before. They’re mostly inoffensive and largely all taste the same. Decent enough for every day consumption. I’m no snob.

Happened to me too. Ended up with this Peanuts hot sauce set with like 12 different kinds. Definitely the thought that counts

~~Got the same one some years ago~~. If anything, it resulted in me diving deep into the world of spice.

Wait, this one is missing one.. The one I got had a ghost pepper sauce. I liked the Habanero and the Ghost pepper enough to use them up.

The others were just a complete miss.

I always go with “it’s the thought that counts.”. I got one this year. The only person I’ve told not to get them is my wife, because she would come home with a box for me every time she sees one she doesn’t recognize.

  20. Island_Judo

I got these as a gift years ago from my girlfriend who lives with me. I make hot sauces and sell them to people, using peppers from my garden, with recipes (30+) that I’ve worked very hard to make as delicious as possible. I did try each one, but ultimately tossed them out.

  21. A1Aaron18

Boxes like this it seems like all the sauces inside have the exact same flavor

  22. I’m still angry about that “global gourmet” bullshit I got

  23. Ambitious-Roof-7250

Got this once. The chipotle chocolate was not good at all

  24. VoidGray4

Not only is it the thought that counts but its also fun. Seeing if you can guess how good or bad they taste, being happy that someone thought they knew you enough to get you this, seeing if you can find something, ANYTHING, to pair with the weird tasting ones, etc. You can enjoy quality hot sauces without being a snob and still having fun with the ones that dont make it to your personal faves list.

  25. ilikegrinchfeet

Some of these vinegar sauces work well with buffalo chicken dip recipes.

  26. micros101

I got them too!! With the price tag still on it.

  27. _6siXty6_

I’d actually enjoy this. I like some of those off brand generic gimmick crap.

  28. Chicoern

I got a set of rick and Morty hot sauce a couple years back. They were small bottles and I actually went thru it pretty quick. A few weren’t half bad and one was basically just Tabasco/crystals/vinnegar. Always good on eggs

  29. jpedlow

I’ll echo many and say “it’s the thought that counts”
They remembered you like hot sauce which is a win — really the only person I trust to randomly grab me a bottle of anything spicy is my wife. Her uncanny ability to get something good is unparalleled, even though she’s the kind of person who can’t handle black pepper. 😂

But in my opinion it’s nice to have some “filler” around when you gotta cook with it or have a bunch of people coming over who want some options but wouldn’t appreciate anything super fancy.

My point is, it’s the thought, sometimes you might be surprised and find one you like!

  30. mjfarmer147

Looks like some shit you would find at a Marshall’s or Ross or TJ Maxx.

  31. Strict-Cut4602

It’s the season. How anyone thinks buying hot sauce from Kohls is a good idea…but yes. The thought is was definitely counts.

  32. Prairie-Peppers

I get these every single year. Make a dip with them

  33. ethanh333

Theyre sooooo bad lol I always just throw em away
