LEONARDTOWN, Md. — Rucci’s Italian Kitchen and Grille officially opened its doors on Dec. 22 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:45 a.m. at 22685 Washington St., welcoming diners to a new culinary addition in the heart of Leonardtown’s historic district.
The opening introduces a fresh dining destination to Leonardtown’s growing restaurant scene, adding to the vitality and charm of the historic district. The Leonardtown restaurant is Rucci’s second location, expanding on the success of its original establishment in White Plains.
Commissioners Michael L. Hewitt and Eric Colvin were on hand to celebrate the grand opening. As part of the ceremony, Commissioner Hewitt delivered a commemorative speech and presented a plaque to the restaurant’s new owners. The celebration concluded with the cutting of a large blue ribbon and heartfelt words of thanks from members of the Rucci family.

The restaurant welcomed diners immediately following the ceremony. The first 59 guests received a $10-off coupon as part of the opening celebration, and attendees were invited to dine inside the newly opened space.
The menu at Rucci’s Italian Kitchen and Grille features a range of classic Italian fare and hearty American-Italian favorites, including traditional pastas, pizza pies, Italian subs, and specialty dishes inspired by Southern Italian family recipes. Offerings range from beloved comfort items such as baked ziti, spaghetti with meatballs, and chicken parmesan to handcrafted pizza, flavorful salads, and signature appetizers — all paired with a well-balanced wine list and handcrafted cocktails. Rucci’s also includes a bourbon bar with more than 100 selections to complement its rich, flavorful menu.
The BayNet had the delight and pleasure to dine in, and we tried the Italian pizza bread appetizer and chicken and broccoli fettuccine Alfredo. The dishes were flavorful, well-presented, and complemented by attentive, high-quality service. Visit ruccisitaliankitchen.com for the full menu!
