A rapidly growing dim sum restaurant chain will bring handmade dumplings and Cantonese-inspired dishes to Hoboken’s south end next summer.

Nana’s Dim Sum & Dumplings has signed a lease for a 3,700-square-foot restaurant at Southend Hoboken, a mixed-use development at 38 Jackson Street that once housed the Davis Baking Powder and My-T-Fine Pudding factories.

The Taurasi Group, which developed the property, announced earlier this month that the new tenant will occupy ground-floor retail space in the Southend Lofts complex that includes 110 condominium units and 100,000 square feet of commercial space.

The restaurant will seat about 80 guests and serve dim sum favorites including shrimp and pork dumplings, siu mai, and black bean spareribs.

The menu also features noodles, buns, fried rice, soups, and larger entrees.

Diners at Nana’s locations can watch cooks fold dumplings and steam dim sum baskets in view of the dining area.

Founded two years ago in Colorado, Nana’s operates seven locations across Colorado and New York, with four more in development.

The restaurant joins other retail tenants at the development, including a 25,100-square-foot fitness center, a 12,500-square-foot Dumbo supermarket, and Under Pressure Espresso Bar.

An additional anchor tenant is expected to be announced, bringing the project to 72% leased.

Charter Realty is handling retail leasing.
