Tootles & French offers a singular new American dining and wine experience in a beautiful dining room on Ditmars Blvd. What’s more is that they host regular wine tastings, wine and spirits classes and demonstrations, and special events that bring the Queens community together. Gift cards for lunch, dinner, brunch, and the wine dinners make great gifts for any occasion with special bundle prices.

Since opening in April 2023, Tootles & French has created a sense of community and belonging with partners Chad Goldsmith and Vanessa Massas welcoming everyone to enjoy their extraordinary selection of fine, sustainable wines, hand crafted spirits, and outrageously good food. Tootles & French won USA Today’s Best New Restaurant in the USA last year and we couldn’t be happier or prouder to have them in our Queens family.

The sophisticated, cozy dining room features burgundy walls, hand-painted tile floors, and soft lighting to create a relaxed vibe. Enjoy seasonal cocktails such as the Holly Jolly, Cranberry Crush, Haut Toddy, and mulled wine Negroni. Fine wines and bubbles flow as well as Martinis, Vespers, and hand crafted Negronis made from small batch spirits. Friday and Saturday Happy Hours run from 10pm to closing with specially priced cocktails and snacks.

Celebrate Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with a 3-course dinner for $75 per person and New Year’s Eve dinner from 4pm to 10pm for just $85 per person. After 10pm, there’s no cover charge to party until 2am with live music, snacks for purchase, and a wine and beer package for $40 or a la carte bar. Stay local, enjoy New Year’s Eve with friends and neighbors, then walk or Uber home. On New Year’s Day, enjoy a Hangover Brunch from 12-6pm. Private parties are welcome and catering is available to your venue.

Tootles & French hosts regular wine dinners, tastings, and demonstrations in the private room just past the dining room. Having personally attended several wine pairing, 3-course dinners here, I can say that these are very special evenings for solos, couples, and friends, and a gift certificate is a great idea for the foodies and wine enthusiasts in your life. Some upcoming highlights include a Peruvian Wine dinner on January 17th, wines from Spain on January 29th, and wines from Provence (non rosé) on February 28th. Global Gin class and demo takes place on January 25th, and there’s a Wine and Chocolate class on February 22nd. Visit their website for their full calendar of events and plan your next private or corporate function here and leave it to the experts at Tootles & French.

The seasonal menu at Tootles & French makes every visit special. On a recent visit, my dashing companion and I enjoyed the tuna tartare appetizer below a disk of creamy guacamole that was bright and citrusy, served with homemade corn tostadas to scoop it up with. Creamy burrata oozed onto garlic toast with roasted tomatoes, cornichons, and balsamic dressing ($18). Coq au vin wings are marinated in red wine, and the polenta fries are great to nibble on. Squash-potato soup is a seasonal soul warming bowl of comfort. Share a charcuterie board with crusty bread at the bar or at your table with friends.

For our main course, Chad recommended the wild boar Bourguignon braised with red wine, served over creamy mashed potatoes that was excellent and reminiscent of dishes I’ve had in Europe. The chicken leg lollipops are sublimely tender and the succulent meat slides swiftly off the bone, into a bed of mashed potatoes, sauteed spinach, and aromatic Bordelaise sauce ($28). Wild boar ragu is served over rigatoni, and the mushroom fettuccine is topped with white wine beurre blanc sauce and Parmigiano ($19). Fresh salmon and an 11-ounce NY strip steak are great choices and cooked to order. Vanilla crème brulee topped with a strawberry and an after-dinner liqueur make the perfect end to a fabulous meal.

Tootles & French is open 7 days a week for lunch, dinner, and Sunday Jazz Brunch from 12-3pm featuring Astoria resident Larry Luger on guitar. Lunch offers $15 sandwiches and $5 glasses of wine Monday to Thursday from 12pm – 4pm followed by dinner until 10pm, and until midnight on Friday and Saturday night. Put your holiday sparkle on and head to Tootles & French where the excellent cuisine, fine wines, and craft cocktails flow along with friendly smiles, warmth, and hospitality. Mark your calendars for their amazing wine and spirits events! I’ll see you at Tootles & French!
