Get into espresso they said, you’d make a lot of coffee they said. In reality, I just make frothed milk drinks for my 5 year old.

  1. Grind finer! 🤣

Looks sick, I’m about to dress up my cortado

This doesn’t seem espresso’s problem. Looks yummy tho

I absolutely get a ton of mileage making “coffee milk” for my kids on weekends. They sit and sip their frothed milk and feel so sophisticated.

Anything that builds goodwill from the family for the hobby is a win in my book haha

I’ve made quite a few drinks I wouldn’t have the heart to drink myself. But it’s nice being able to make everyone (mostly) happy.

My wife has basically stopped spending money at Starbucks since getting a decent machine.

I mean… Same? I think I’ll be Pulling espresso shots and steaming milk for lattes to enjoy before a long day/after an exhausting day only for my family to take them. I’ve basically just been adding chocolate syrup on the (usually correct) assumption that I will not be drinking them.

I got it and used the shit out of mine for the first month but it was recking my sleep so now I only espresso on weekends lol

Could be worse. You could have spent about $1K a month in beans in a year chasing a magical wonderland of flavors.

I just got my first machine and a better grinder. I just got it dialed in after about 5 tries. I must’ve “tasted” a little more than I thought because I am having heart palpitations, lol.

We started this way. My 10 year old now wants lattes. My husband occasionally lets her get one with decaf espresso while out. Be careful haha!

But your 5yo LOVES the living heck out of you.

That’s so sweet. Our 4 year old always asks her daddy for a “foam milk drink” when he’s making coffee. She will remember all the times he gave her a cup of foam with red sprinkles on top 🙂

Same honestly for my 2yo 🤣 her fave part of the morning is watching me make coffee for me and her dad and frothing some milk for her too

My toddlers demand to tamp my grind, which is messy. But I’ll miss it one day.

    Merry Christmas

Man, as someone with grown kids who are focused on their own lives, make that baby anything they want and treasure that time together.

My wife has not been pleased with my new hobby – but we make hot cocoa for our kids often. Even after I explained, I still don’t think she fully understands the next level I can now bring our hot cocoa game to.
