AIKEN — After years of service in Aiken, Ferrando’s Italian Pizzeria on Richland Avenue has closed its doors.

A notice that was posted on the front of the building as of Dec. 22 reads: “We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your patronage over the years.”

The other Ferrando’s location in Aiken at 152 South Aiken Lane will remain open.

Ferrando’s was first founded in 1986 in Burnettown by Lou and Faye Ferrando. It has expanded to include several locations in South Carolina and Georgia.

Faye Ferrando made a comment on a Facebook post regarding the South Aiken Lane location remaining open: “Southside is not closing. Same great recipes. Same great food. New owners for two years now. Aiken’s Best voted them Best Italian Restaurant and second place in Best Pizza.”

The location that has closed was at 3555 Richland Ave. West in the Shoppes on Richland.
