Y’all seriously using bustelo to make espresso here?

Looks better than my first shot of the day turned out. Mine was under extracted and sour… (I know, grind more fine…)
As others have asked, how did it taste?

Looks pretty, how’s the taste? Why Bustelo? I know it’s a popular cuban choice for cafecito on a moka pot, but why on an espresso machine?

I’m amazed you pulled anything worth drinking with Bustello. I use it for aeropress and mokapot but it’s waaaaay too course to pull anything resembling espresso, much less with that amount of crema

Looks delicious. I love bustelo

Sorry, this sub is a jaded snobbish hivemind and you’ve upset them all. They think all that matters in espresso is taste because they’ve forgotten the visual joy of creating your first thick crema, and because Bustelo is cheap.
Bustelo is perfect for learning espresso, because it is cheap. Your shot looks nice! If you used a pressurized basket (single hole on the bottom) that’s more of a faux espresso but perfectly good for learning on, and it creates a lot of crema. When you’re comfortable you can switch to an unpressurized basket if you aren’t already using it (lots of holes all over the bottom.)
Welcome to the rabbit hole!

Longtime lurker, what are you guys seeing that tells you it’s going to be a bitter/ sour shot?

Gird your loins.
Oh boy
You tell us, how did it taste?
Small hand… or big cup?
That’s gonna put some hair on your chest.
It looks like beer because of the huge layer of foam it produced, haha.
Bustelo be waking me up!
Is that a quadruple shot of espresso?
That’s definitely not 18g in 36g out 2:1 ratio, unless you have the tiniest hand ever 🤣
Did you use a moka pot? That looks pretty good for that brewing method.
How
How many grams of espresso is in that cup?

Pressurized basket? That’s more crema than I’ve ever seen. You’ll be having the zoomies after that monster. 😆 enjoy

5482 cup of espresso I’ve ever made, how’d I do?
Grind finer.
The proof is in the tasting
