Members of the Shore Democrats, a local political action committee, recently collected a truckload of nonperishable food to support the Bethel Tabernacle Church food bank near Frankford.

The donations were gathered at the group’s December meeting and filled an entire pickup truck. The food was delivered to Bethany Area Realty, which serves as a collection site for the church’s food assistance program.

The Bethel Tabernacle Church food bank provides groceries to individuals and families in Frankford and surrounding communities, with increased demand during the winter months.

“Our members were enthusiastic about helping once the need was identified,” said Harry Gold, president of the Shore Democrats. “Community service is an important part of who we are, and this was a great opportunity to make a local impact.”

In addition to supporting candidates and issues, the Shore Democrats regularly participate in service projects that benefit Sussex County residents.
