My family always appreciates my meals even tho I cook it with that “bucket thing”
The "bucket thing" is my favorite kitchen tool, hands down.

Thank you for your picture post to r/sousvide. We want to remind everyone of Rule #5. Posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.
If you’ve posted a picture of something you’ve prepared, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn’t really fostering any discussion which is what we’re all aiming for.
Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.
Thank you!!

133 for 6-8 hours, piping hot cast iron dry sear. Rest a bit, bathe in butter and hit it with one last broil in the 550 degree oven switched to broil + high for 5 minutes.

My kids and friends are always shocked when they come for a roast beef dinner and the scent doesn’t start until around 15 minutes before dinner. But then they fall in love with the meat! Lol

If I catch any “even tho” in the air, they get an automatic thin slice…

I don’t know how many times I’ve told multiple people in my family I’m not “boiling meat for two days”.

My wife was very skeptical the first time I told her about sous vide… But she’s learned to trust me on cooking tools.
Fast forward five years, and when I told her the Joule had died, she immediately asked whether I’d ordered a replacement already or not.

Might have to steal your sear method, it looks fantastic

My partner HATES meat made in my sous vide, but loves it when I ask him if he wants me to reheat soup or chili we have in the freezer. But then again, he doesn’t know that I make the absolute best, juiciest chicken wings we’ve ever had with it (before I deep-fry them) so I keep that one a secret. I overcook his silly chicken breast in the air fryer the way he likes it and call it a day lol. (Mine is 147 sous vide with a quick sear, he just doesn’t appreciate it haha). I was hoping to convert him with a strip or ribeye, but he prefers the air fryer. Oh well.
