honestly this looks like someone saw the empty security keepers sitting on an employee cart and just locked something random that kind of fits for laughs, since the rest of them aren’t locked and this would be a ridiculous AP directive to spend time on.
I wouldn’t even say this was the employees because grocery employees likely wouldn’t have keepers like this nearby- alcohol bottles get security and can be part of their workload but those are for boxes/smaller product in electronics and cosmetics

My local Walmart keeps things locked in glass cases but will transfer your selection to one of these boxes so you can browse the store with your product.
Someone probably grabbed these empty boxes and locked the coffee as a joke.
