Love Creamery has opened its third location in the Billings Park neighborhood of Superior. They welcomed customers just after the holidays. The new shop held a soft opening, with hard-served ice cream drawing residents in from across the Twin Ports.

Love Creamery’s third shop marks its first in Wisconsin, after years of anticipation from fans. Phil Krause and his family traveled from Ashland for the occasion.

“Love Creamery is amazing because for us, we have health issues in the family and this is ice cream that we can come and eat and enjoy. And not have to worry about certain additives or certain ingredients because they don’t use it. So we get to come in and enjoy it and not have to worry.” Krause said, “It’s great to see that they’re expanding. It’s awesome to see obviously as a Wisconsinite that they have a spot in Wisconsin. So any growth for a local business is awesome to see.”

Krause added that since Love Creamery’s third location is in Superior, he hopes there can be a fourth location near Bayfield.

Nicole Wilde, the founder and owner, said since Love Creamery opened their third location it’ll be different from their other shops, because of its size and future plans.

“We are very limited in our two locations based on just storage space of ice cream. So this particular space is much larger and enabled us to build out a whole dairy plant that is on the other side of the wall here. It’s not running quite yet,”, Wilde said. “That’s the second phase, but we’re hoping to have that up and running by February.”

Wilde said her vision for Love Creamery is creating a place where people can build a career and grow skills.

“My dream is to have a real viable place that people can work and enjoy and make a living at. And also be a part of the community is huge. There’s always this like environmental piece, which is hard to my core. Like, how can we run businesses more sustainably for a better planet?”

The Billings Park scoop shop will be open Wednesdays through Sundays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wilde said once the dairy plant is finished, it will help expand their wholesale ice cream offerings.
