My Joe is about 6 years old and the exhaust vent started rusting around 2 years ago. It was starting to get worse and I wanted to prevent further damage so I chose to season it like a cast iron pan. I added a bit of oil to it while i started a cleaning cycle. It actually worked very well but on my third coat I guess I added a bit too much oil and while I was away it must have dripped down the egg staining the paint red. I tried cleaning it with an all purpose cleaner but it didn’t do anything. Am I just going to have to deal with the paint damaged or does anyone know how I can fix this?

I believe it is grease and smoke that gets humid from a cool and drips onto the dome from your raised wheel. Soap and water works for me.
Green cleaner or My Barkeepers Friend liquid cleaner will take care of it.
Clean with dawn dish soap or degreaser if really tough. Any chips or missing paint you can buy the red touch-up kit from KJ
It’s not really damage, it’s just grease
Zep. It’s a citrus degreaser at Home Depot for like 4 bucks, if you’re in the US.
I use simple green cleaner.
Use green soap, it’s just grease from low and slow
