Made this veggie fry up for me and my girlfriend. What could be changed to improve?

    I’m not an expert on veggie fry ups but this one looks really nice. I’d choose this over a meat one if I had a choice, particularly in the summer months. Only thing I would consider doing differently would be roast cherry tomatoes on the vine.

    The things I’d change are cooking the tomatoes (just salt, pepper and olive oil and a minute in the microwave works on cherry tomatoes), and buttering the fuck out of the bread.

    Where to begin? Avocado does not belong on any fryup, it’s okay on toast as a breakfast but not here. Tomatoes definitely belong but not in an uncooked state, preferably fried or at the very least grilled. Veggie sausage is fine but give it some real colour when cooking. A nice plate of food but not a fryup by a long stretch.

  5. Cook the beans so they’re thicker. I add garlic, pepper, paprika, salt. Grill your tomatoes, don’t cut them. Slather the bread with butter. Better sausages.

    I gave up being vegan after a heart attack in Jan. Vegan meat substitutes will do you no good, make a spanish omelette with beans on the side, much better option.

    Scrammies look great. If you want to upgrade try glamorgan sausages instead of quorn. Marinate your tomatoes in garlic and balsamic and honey. Upgrsde those beans to heinz five beans.

    Looks good to me! Agree with others to cook the beans for longer, get em on a low heat same time as everything else. Try leaving the cherry tomatoes whole and frying with some salt n pepper.

    Your scrambled eggs look lovely, I’d add some crispy chili or chiu chow but that’s just the way I like my eggs.

    Keep experimenting! Maybe try some…. asparagus?

    I would clear the plate apart from toms and avocado.

    I much prefer scrambled egg ( don’t like egg white ) and I am rapidly warming to Halloumi on a breakfast.

    Toast is somewhat small and needs butter ( or vegan spread )
