I ordered one of these to try to maximize my cooking space on my smoker, any thoughts or has anyone had good luck with them?

Yes, I have the Weber Rib Rack and it works awesome.

Anytime I need to make more then two racks I use them to good success. Just be careful if they get too close to each other it can add some cook time.

All the time on a 22 inch Weber. Best ribs ever

  4. The one like you’re showing can be tricky with getting fatter baby backs between the slots but work great with St. Louis.

Yes but buy a generic roast rack and turn it upside down. Much cheaper and bigger.

    I like to use them.

But word of caution, the ribs will curl when using the racks and can sometimes be difficult to remove from the rack without damaging them.

    Work amazing.

IKEA sells some stainless steel dish dry racks that work amazing as cheap rib holders.

    They call them variera.

I like the idea, I’ve just never been able to get the bark I like on my dry rub ribs

They’re great. It’ll give you an excuse I make 4 racks

They were great for my WSM, but no longer needed on my Traeger because I have a lot more space.

I use them when cooking a couple of racks and space is a premium. They are really effective when smoking large batches

I made one that fit 10 racks. While using it I realized I could fit 8 large racks and 2 small if all the grates are installed. Haven’t used it since. It was a quick and fun build. I have contacts points on 4 places so I didn’t see any curling.

I used them plenty of times on my Webber 22”. I did however cut one of the sets I have in half, it lets me put the ribs standing up but I can also curve the ribs this way so I get way more room.

Yes – if you’re going to smoke one, you might as well smoke three!

If my smokers trying to bulk up for an event yeah. But not normally.

  16. They also hold cutting boards nicely in a bottom cabinet lol

  17. Use the Weber brand to fit 6 racks on the 26″. I rotate throughout the cook

  18. I always use when doing two or more racks. I’ll use wooden skewers to help them stay in place and keep them apart. Great tool to max your ribs production

Do you have one of those slim cabinets for cookie sheets? We’ll I do. And this rib rack fits perfectly inside and helps hold my pans nicely!

See how many cookie sheets this baby can hold!! 8 Nordicware cookie sheets…..and also 2 extra large cutting boards!!

I used these exact rib racks for a summer party. I filled my entire lower rack of my woodwind pro 36” pellet smoker. They worked great. I wish they made a larger one with more slots so I didn’t have to use multiple and lose the space for the “handles”. I overlapped the handles to save space but then couldn’t easily move them. I had the top rack filled with sides so I didn’t rotate the ribs at all. Depending upon your smoker this may or may not work for you. Overall I would still recommend them. They space them out just enough to still get good bark but also maximize space. It would be amazing if they had a large one that held around 12+ racks. I’m going to see if I can find a welder, cut off the handles and combine the ones I have.

Edit… I also find these better than most other racks because the racks have good length to them. I believe they had two sizes you want the longer ones. They hold decent size St. Louis cut ribs without the ends curling and touching each other and killing the bark. I had that problem with Weber and other brands of racks I’ve tried before.

Work great. Sometimes hard to get racks out once they shrink up.

I have thought about it but would need to cut mine in half to fit. Should I?

I only use this if I need it to fit more ribs in my grill. They work well enough, but sometimes ribs can get stuck in them, and I feel like I get better bark without them, but they allow me to make 2-3 as many ribs on the same grill.

  24. Make sure the lid will close when it’s loaded up 😞

  25. Only if I’m having company over but yes, it works well
