Easily the best “high end” seafood restaurant in town. They have a killer happy hour to boot also. Side note, I saw the pitmaster John bates of interstellar walking towards there when I was leaving. 👀

If that picture is the fish tacos then I’d expect a lot more for $20
Do you take the photos or does the restaurant provide them for you to post?

Este is definitely not amazing. It’s good, but overpriced fo what it is. The service is sub-par.
For what you get there are easily 30+ restaurants in Austin I would prefer.
Este’s problem is that it tries to be too much—it tries to be a seafood restaurant, Mexican restaurant, casual restaurant, and fine dining restaurant all at the same time. All while doing each of these just okay.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d be thrilled to go. But it’s not amazing

My favorite thing about Este is that it’s across the street. I’ve been so many times that I’ve lost count. Everyone I know absolutely loves it, but I’ve yet to find a dish that really knocks my socks off. Everything is good.

Nothing in that picture or on their menu indicates its a “high end” seafood restaurant, other than the prices on the menu.

Every single experience I’ve had here has been amazing my favorite restaurant in Austin from a local !!

My wife and I ate at Este once. We thought it was fantastic until we both got the worst food poisoning we’ve ever had. Would not go again but will remember some delightful flavors.

I recently ate there and honestly it didn’t blow me away. Food was over-salted. Comedor is better IMO.

I’ve found them to be mid but they’re a nightmare to have as a neighbor.

Hard disagree. This place is rough and they have little to no hospitality. We had a party and they forgot drinks appetizers and food was flat out missing ingredients. They were rude and dismissive and it was one of my worst experiences at a restaurant in Austin.

Best high end seafood restaurant? How do you define high end?

When I went it was so bad I booked a flight to san Diego to take my girl to Baja California to show her what fish tacos should taste like. Considering their happy hour tacos were 19? I think. Best thing I had there during my meal was dessert. My personal experience, but I’m glad you enjoyed it!
