Almost all the things I packed in my checked luggage. I was just over the weight limit, so I et one tin of Captaine Cook mackerel and one of La Perle sardines with half a baguette for me lunch on the front stoop of the airport in Toulouse. No one gave me a second look. I also stashed a few cans in my carryon, without incident.

My hazy hope, sketching out travel plans earlier in the year, had been to stock up on half a year’s supply of fine French items we just can’t lay hands on in the States. In the end, though, I kept eating into my supply during the trip. Just as well or I’d’ve had to scarf down another dozen cans before checking me bag.

No Rodel????? That is the besttttt

  7. I forgot to mention that these sardines are cooked in an oven, rather than being steamed, which is Ferrigno’s more typical approach. As best I can determine, then, these are the same as the sardines in the firm’s “Lou Ferrignade” range of higher end products.
