It’s unfortunate we can’t get the best cheeses and butters in canada from France etc because of the strict pasteurization rules. They say it’s to protect our cattle as per the article. Are all the ones in France getting diseases?

Drinking raw milk is very similar to drinking raw eggs. By not pasteurizing, which kills pathogens you meaningfully increase the likelihood of you getting sick. Same thing with not cooking an egg or eating raw chicken you aren’t guaranteed to get sick, it’s just commonly accepted that it’s good practice to cook something or treat it in a way that kills common pathogens like salmonella and listeria. I worked underwriting product recall insurance for years and all I can tell you is there’s a reason raw milk products are basically uninsurable in North America.

  3. I had no idea cheese was made with raw milk while I was in France. I had this really nice goat cheese that I guess was made with raw milk and it had ended up sending me to the hospital because i’m allergic to the actual animal lol delicious though!
