Christmas is close and I believe I have completed all the Goan sweets so far. My Christmas playlist has all my recipes! So now I am trying some other well-known sweets thar could be a part of your ‘Kuswar’ (sweet preparation). These Turkish Delights are simply wonderful. I made them green because I think it works well with the added pistachios. Just remember to grease your tin, parchment paper and your spatula (at the end) to get a hassle-free Turkish Delight. Many recipes call for 4 cups of sugar (larger quantity); but thiz recipe calls for only 2. It makes 36 cubes. 36 Perfect Cubes 😋

My Christmas Recipes Playlist is here:

Ingredients:
1 US cup = 240ml

Sugar Syrup:
250 ml or 1 Cup + 1 Tablespoon Water
400 grams or 2 Cups granulated Sugar
1 Tablespoon Lime juice

Starch Mixture:
80 grams or 2/3 Cup Cornflour (Cornstarch)
360 ml or 1 & 1/2 Cups Water
Add the sugar syrup in increments
Few drops Gel Food Colour (your choice)
Whole or chopped Pistachios (or other nuts or leave it plain)
2 teaspoons Rose Water (optional)

For dusting:
1/2 Cup Icing Sugar
1 Tablespoon Cornflour

Note:
– Tin size: 9″x4.5″x2″
– Line it with Butter Paper and apply oil all over it.
– Also, keep a second spatula (greased with oil) ready. You won’t have much time to level the mixture once you take it off the stove.
– Let it cool for at least 2 hours. The tin should be completely cool to touch.
– Cut the Turkish Delight into 2-bite sized squares using an Oiled Knife.
– Store in an airtight container with the cornflour and Icing sugar mixture. It can stay for about a week.

  3. Hi ma'am lovely recipe & my favourite can I use a hand beater for the mixing of the corn starch as I have a wrist problem & looking at you mixing it looks very hard. I love to try out this sweet ❤

  4. I've seen rice paper and wafer paper used on the top and bottom, cut into cubes, then dusted with powdered sugar, then excess shaken off. It gives two sides that aren't sticky

  5. yes but that food coloring makes it look like it' radioactive. and food coloring does not taste good to begin with so could have done something natural there…
