Very new to sous-vide, this is my first time using it and my first steak. It’s actually insane how this thing just casually produces… THIS. Incredible.

Thank you for your picture post to r/sousvide. We want to remind everyone of Rule #5. Posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.

If you’ve posted a picture of something you’ve prepared, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn’t really fostering any discussion which is what we’re all aiming for.

Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.

    Thank you!!

…did you accidentally burn the bread box as well? I have that same one, it’s not that colour 😄

Ikr (inside smike). I think it’s high time we get a secret handshake or greeting.

Nice! Now you need to join r/castiron to perfect the other half of the cook. Pork Tenderloin is probably the biggest game changer of all.

Yes. It’s amazing. The real chore is finding the best ways to get a sear. That takes a little practice

Looks great. Given you’re new to sous vide, if you want something that might even blow your mind more pork chops or pork tenderloin. Pork prior to sous vide for me was very hit or miss, but now it is tender and juicy every time.

Pork for me was more of a game changer than steak, as I had a couple steak techniques that were quite reliable. Pork has a much tighter window to get the cook down in my experience and that is where sous vide shines.

Welcome to the game. Wait till you turn a chuck steak into the most tender prime rib you’ve ever had.
