Shredded cheese fans, you’ll want to pay attention to this recall. Shredded cheese produced by Great Lakes Cheese Co., and sold under a number of different brand names has been recalled after metal fragments were found in the cheese.
The cheese recall impacts both shredded mozzarella and shredded cheese blends, with sell-by dates between January and March 2026, and was sold at a variety of retailers—including Target, Aldi, Publix, and Walmart—in 31 states. The product currently in the stores is not subject to recall, but you may have the cheese in your fridge at home.
