Whipped up this Beauty and she was successful, but I’m not sure what she is. She was supposed to be French bread, but is there a more appropriate term for this loaf? Or is this still French bread? Did this need a longer proof?

500g flour
280g water
100g starter
80g EVOO
25g sugar
10g salt

Combined until shaggy
Rest 1 hour
Knead on 2 for like 2 min??
Countertop bulk ferment
Coil fold (shape) 3-4x ; 1x/45 min
Proofed at 95 degrees
Baked 435 for 30 min with steam

Bread. More like a sandwich loaf texture with the addition of EVOO and sugar to the dough.

I think you’ll need to send it to me to taste test to identify it…

French bread has no added fat so I think this one is more in the Italian bread category.

Hear me out. I think it’s called, bread.

Is this a trick question? It looks like bread to me.

Sandwich bread due to the EVOO. This will enrich the bread and make it soft.

You made plain bread. You can make a butter garlic oregano spread and turn it into garlic bread now.

I don’t know but it certainly looks delicious

This is more or less a Pain de Mie, a French sourdough sandwich loaf.

    Looks great!
