It’s the end of the road for Sesame Mediterranean Kitchen.
The fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant, which opened in 2021 in NewMarket Square at 2755 N. Maize Road has officially closed. All this ten months after closing the east side store at 4510 E. 19th St. at Braeburn Square.
It was a new local concept created five years ago by restaurateur Youssef Youssef, who brought Wichita restaurants like Mediterranean Grill, Le Monde, and Marbella to Wichita.
I’m unsure of Youssef’s future with restaurants in town moving forward.
Signage was already pulled from the building earlier this week.

A note was also left on the door saying,
Dear Valued Customers,
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the permanent closure of Sesame on 12-29-2025.
This was a difficult decision. But after much consideration, we believe it is the best path forward. Due to the challenging business environment.
We want to express our deepest gratitude for your incredible loyalty and support over the past 5 years. We have cherished the opportunity to serve you and be part of this wonderful community.
We will miss you all very much and hope you will remember Sesame fondly.
With love and gratitude, the Sesame Family
