Editor,
To Community Christmas Dinner volunteers:
On behalf of the entire committee, thank you for the time, care, and generosity you shared in making the White Rock and South Surrey Community Christmas Dinner such a meaningful success.
This year, more than 230 guests were welcomed and served a warm Christmas meal, with over 30 additional meals prepared for outreach. We were also able to package a large volume of leftover food to support a church ministry in providing dozens more meals in the days ahead. None of this would have been possible without you.
From the many hours invested by our kitchen volunteers working alongside Chef Brian, to our servers, greeters, drivers, carvers, cleaners, goody bag teams, youth ambassadors, and behind-the-scenes helpers, every role mattered. Your enthusiasm, kindness, and willingness to step in wherever needed created a day filled with warmth, dignity, and genuine connection.
At its heart, this dinner exists to ensure that no one in our community has to spend Christmas alone. Because of you, hundreds of people experienced not just a traditional holiday meal, but also a sense of belonging and care that truly defines the spirit of the season.
Thank you for showing up with such compassion and generosity. It was a privilege to work alongside you, and we are deeply grateful for all you contributed.
With sincere appreciation,
Maureen Beston Filsinger (volunteer coordinator)
on behalf of the White Rock and South Surrey Community Christmas Dinner Committee
