Argentina’s ascent in the global sparkling wine conversation is now incontrovertible, affirmed by a series of honours that trace a trajectory of excellence from 2020 through 2025. At the prestigious Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships (CSWWC) in London, Chandon Rosé was selected as the best Argentine espumante of 2025, crowned ahead of entries from traditional and emerging sparkling wine regions alike. Additionally, Chandon Extra Brut earned a gold medal, consolidating its place among the world’s finest bubbles, an acknowledgement of Argentina’s creative evolution in effervescence. Chandon Argentina’s success in 2025 reflects a lineage of international respect, echoing earlier achievements like the gold medal earned by Chandon Cuvée Brut Nature at the CSWWC in 2020 and the distinction of Chandon Extra Brut as best Argentine espumante in 2023.
Beyond the UK, further global affirmation arrived when Alta Vista Sparkling took gold in the sparkling wine category at the 2025 Sakura Awards in Japan, a competition that spotlights wines that resonate with Asian palates and aesthetics. These latest accolades, bestowed through a combination of rigorous blind tasting by international experts, highlight honours that map the recent arc of Argentine sparkling wine onto the world stage. Espumantes produced in Argentina’s high-altitude vineyards above 1,000 metres, enjoy warm days and cool nights that coax grapes to a rare harmony of sugar and acidity, a terroir signature that animates the mousse in every flute.
This environment, combined with mountain-fed irrigation and sun that climbs bright and steady through long growing seasons, yields fruit that sings with clarity in sparkling wines.
Crafting high-quality Argentine espumantes requires an understanding of both tradition and innovation. Many producers employ the labour-intensive, méthode traditionnelle, meanwhile other vintners use the Charmat method, both of which belong in Argentina’s sparkling portfolio, each revealing facets of the country’s viticultural personalities. Among the vanguard of Argentine sparkling wine producers, several houses now shape conversation globally. These producers also shape experiences that connect the sensory richness of their wines with the places that nurture them, inviting travellers to encounter espumante not as a commodity but as a portal into landscape and culture.

Alta Vista Extra Brut is bright golden in colour, with fine and elegant bubbles that presents a pleasant balance and freshness on the palate. Made entirely from Chardonnay, it offers aromas of white fruits, such as peach and pineapple, which lend freshness and vibrancy.
Alta Vista Brut Nature is a sparkling blanc de blancs made entirely from Chardonnay grapes from Bodega Alta Vista’s Albaneve vineyard in the Uco Valley. It has a pale yellow colour with golden highlights and a fine, persistent perlage.
Chandon Cuvée Reserve Blanc de Noirs is an elegant blend of 86 per cent Pinot Noir, and 14 per cent Chardonnay grapes, with Cuvée Reserve reflecting 40 years of experience. A year and a half of bottle aging provides greater aromatic complexity and structure on the palate.
Chandon Argentina NV Rosé, made from 58 per cent Chardonnay, 38 per cent Pinot Noir and four per cent Malbec, is the perfect balance between freshness and creaminess achieving a pleasant sweet sensation as well as a friendly and jovial palate, accompanied by floral notes and red fruits.
Chandon Argentina NV Extra Brut is a fresh, fruity, elegant, creamy and balanced sparkling wine comprising 60 per cent Chardonnay and 40 per cent Pinot Noir. The wine represents a great Chandon classic that brings together the maximum expression of a sparkling.
Jasmine Monet Organic Vineyard Extra Brut, comprising 15 per cent Pinot Noir and 85 per cent Chardonnay. earned a sparkling wine bronze medal at the 2025 DWWA as 1 of only 8 medallists in the category from Argentina. The other winners in this category were Chandon (6) and Baron B (1).
Baron B Cuvée Millésimée Brut Rosé, a silver medallist at the 2025 Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) is a vintage cuvée, meaning it is only produced in exceptional harvest years. It is made using 60 per cent Chardonnay, 39 per cent Pinot Noir, 1 per cent Malbec.
Alma 4 Pinot Chardonnay was selected joint-first place in the 2025 Descorchados Argentina Wine Rankings. Aromas of red fruit, pear, and apple are complemented by an elegant scent of yeast, dried fruit, and toast. It comprises 70 per cent Pinot Noir and 30 per cent Chardonnay
Rutini Wines Colección Brut Nature is the other joint-first place espumante in the 2025 Argentina Wine Rankings by Descorchados. A blend of 50 per cent Pinot Noir and 50 per cent Chardonnay from vineyards in the Tupungato area, with a focus on Gualtallary.
