I don’t know. It’s kind of disgusting to me

Had one like that, and it threw me off.

Its a great idea, but not having had meat in over 15 years and suddenly thinking you’re holding a chicken bone is a turnoff. I had to throw mine away.

bones in meat were easily the worst part about being a carnist. Let’s not make this a common thing in vegan food please lol

I like it better with sugarcane bones

I think it’s helpful for people who are trying to cut out meat or who are trying to be open minded for a partner/friend/etc.

it’s actually pretty common here in socal to have fake “chicken” wings and a bamboo stick or wooden dowel in the middle to help hold it together and emulate a bone.

  7. They have these at Asian places, they’re good.

The “bone” seems to have a function in the recipes I’ve used, you wrap the protein around the stick.

Maybe it’s because I’ve never eaten a chicken wing before, but just love “bone in” seitan wings. They are so fun to eat!

The stick keeps it together. It’s wrapped around the stick.

  10. It’s like a skewer people damn. Ever had a veggie skewer? It’s no different. My local Chinese vegan spot has these and when I eat them, I have never ever thought of it like a real animal bone. However I have thought of it as a wooden stick cuz that’s what it is. Lots of things (vegan and non- vegan) come on wooden sticks.

In theory, I’m not a fan, but if it has a practical purpose I get it. The whole turkey -shaped veg loaves and wrapping rice paper on top top replicate crispy skin freaks me out. As others stayed though, this is food on a stick, which means it’s universally great.

  12. Fuck me guys all this pearl clutching about a flipping stick is a bit much. It literally holds the protein together when you cook it. Chill out fam.
