No original tasting notes on this one. This bottle was incredibly well preserved. I was shocked to still taste some primary flavors like cherry and some nice acidity, along with typical Bordeaux tertiary flavors. Extremely delicate and resolved tannins. Check out the color in the second picture. A lot of fun to drink this 100 year old bottle.

I was quite relieved after my last month Thanksgiving 1959 haut brion was CORKED

Wow. Would kill for a sip of that. Just to have some idea of what a century tastes like.

I’m all mad as a ten year old italian white blend I opened last week has the cork fall apart on me. Glad to read this was enjoyable. You have it with any food?

A bit rude innit to drink a 100 year old bordeaux first growth and just say kicked of 2026 with a 1926 Latour. My oldest first growth is 1939 and I’ve seen a lot hope that sink in…

Any how as us mere mortals it would be nice if you were to tell us what it is like to drink a century old wine.

  6. I’ve heard some people leave these out overnight. Was that your approach?

Gotta ask, are you Finnish? Our government wine monopoly is selling the 1926 for a ‘meager’ 6000€ ?
