You could probably repurpose it to be a smoker, but my understanding is that wood fired pizza ovens are supposed to get CRAZY hot to cook pizza in less than 10 minutes, if that. The point of smoking is to maintain low temps for prolonged periods of time. That being said, from a materials perspective, the oven has to have a place for wood, good insulation, and good airflow. All of which are important in a smoker. If it can maintain heats of around 200F with little to no modification, it should work fine. Just be careful that the temp doesn’t suddenly spike when you’re not paying attention.

What I would do:
Since pizza is high heat and meat smoking is low heat.
Build your first fire see how hot it gets Make a pizza (you can use that Trader Joe’s premade dough and keep it simple with cheese and sauce whatever) As then fire dies down, put on a well seasoned fork shoulder, using some sort of elevated grate
monitor how well the heat holds (if it can hold 250F for a few hours you have a good vessel for smoking meats.

I have one of these, they are fantastic for smoking! But the “pizza oven” should have been called simply an oven because it doesn’t really get up to traditional PO temps.

I’d be surprised if you couldn’t. Perhaps a few modifications will be needed
I’m jealous of the wood fired pizza oven.
Congratulations, your pizza oven is actually meant specifically to pull double duty as a smoker!

You lucky bastard!
Great find, I suspect it’s a great smoker, congrats!
All you need to smoke meats is a… smoker. I’m going with yes you can.
Truly jealous, enjoy
You can smoke meat in a garbage can so you can definitely smoke meat in this
You can smoke anything with nipples
I’d recommend using a drip tray but it’s not necessary
