Good morning!!
Merry Christmas Eve! We made it—the final door in the 2025 Nespresso Vertuo Advent Calendar. Although we’re Team No Spoilers over here (and shoutout if you actually made it through without any spoilers), I think we all knew what was coming today hahaha. With that said…
* December 24 Gift: >!Thandiwe Muriu Embossed Porcelain Mug!<
Just like last year, I put the kids to bed on the 23rd, and open the 24th door as a treat to myself while it’s quiet. I’m currently typing this out at 12:36am eastern after staging a few photos, while I wrap some gifts drinking this Nespresso night cap (reveal below).
I love the design this year! But one thing I immediately noticed was that it’s thinner? The rim of the cup and the handle do not feel nearly as sturdy as past years. Almost like past years were more rounded? And this year I can feel an ‘edge’? So be careful with this one as I feel it’s not of similar qualities as past years.
What do you think?

Yup; you read that correct. Apologies to all the peppermint pinwheel Stan’s, but Nespresso has pulled the same move they did last year…started and ended with the same capsule. And honestly? I love this one. Recency bias aside, I think this has been the best calendar to date. Sure we missed some dear friends like peppermint pinwheel but some of us remember the OG days where it felt like no rhyme or reason other than Nespresso throwing in capsules that were about to expire lol. As you can see in the photos, I used about 6-7oz of oatly full fat oatmilk and snapped a few pictures. The dollop of foam deflated but they all can’t be winners.
If you scrolled through the pictures above you may have reached my face reveal and emoji family! Now you can put a face to the name—which is actually Brandon, not Marc or anything to do with my username—so surprise! Nice to meet everybody that didn’t scroll through my post history and find my face elsewhere lol.
With all that said, I wanted to thank everyone for joining in not only this year, but years passed. After 6 years (sheesh) of coordinating this no spoiler Vertuo advent calendar reveal, I’ve decided to hang up the apron. I’m not going to say the 4th child broke me, but he has definitely contributed to a significant decrease in personal time 🤣.
Although I was able to get these posts up every morning, it was very tough. Weekend hockey and basketball, getting kids to and from daycare and school. Should see me every morning running out the door 4 kids, 4 book bags, 4 lunches, 4 ‘car snacks’ and a coffee mug no lid 🤣🤣. Every post you saw was 2 minutes before I loaded all the kids up on the dad bus.
I thought about ways to make it more convenient for myself. Maybe just 1 day doing 24 drinks and snapping pictures and just posting them as the days came but that felt extremely disingenuous. I also thought (briefly) about using AI to help…But again, disingenuous and also who wants to have a cup of coffee with a robot? You see all that rambling above? No AI accusations here, all human made baby lol.
I’ll probably continue to participate in the calendar but just personally. At this point the sunk cost fallacy is out the window and I want every Vertuo present these Nespresso folks will give me lol. Thank you all again and if you ever find yourself in Pittsburgh—coffee on me!

This is my first Christmas on this sub and my first Christmas with the advent calendar. I’ve really enjoyed your daily posts – I barely have found time to open and enjoy my calendar with one kid running riot around the house, so massive well done for doing all this with four! Merry Christmas to you and your family ☺️

The handle on this cup suuuucks 😭 I personally prefer a much bigger cozy handle on a mug. Happy I did the calendar overall though!

Everyday, I kept waiting to open up the peppermint. I was so sad. lol. I think the coffee mug is beautiful. My first Nespresso mug, so I donl’t have any others to compare. But the handle is kinda small, so not very comfortable. I also bought The OL advent calendar for my Mini machine at home and it had the same coffee mug which made me sad. I thought there would be a smaller cappuccino or espresso cup since it was the OL. Well, off to make my Festive OL pod and make some pumpkin pies. Merry Christmas Eve, Happy Yuletide, everyone.

I love the post. I was a little disappointed in the calendar this year compared to last. Last year I liked the theme, the coffees, and I even used the sturdy exterior of the box as covers for a new journal. This year the packaging was flimsy and I had a hunch on what the mug would be because it was all over Nespresso’s website 😭. For people who have been doing this longer than 2 years is this year’s closer to how they normally are? I know OP said there used to be no rhyme or reason to the pods but what about the mug and packaging?

I’ve come back year after year, and you’re half the reason I buy the advent calendar every year. You will be missed and next year I will think of you with each daily brew. Wondering what you would say, and having a laugh in spirit knowing you are drinking too. Enjoy your time with your family. We understand all the hard work it takes to raise four young children. I don’t know where you found the time to do this but know we love it and have enjoyed this holiday with you. Happy Holidays!
Oh, and I liked this capsule better the second time. The cup is festive enough and the handle leaves an impression (on my fingers!)…at least it’s consistent with other nespresso mugs. It will go in reserve with the others.
